Other Courses
There are many other golf courses in the region, some within 20 minutes drive away, which include: Las Ramblas, Villamartin and Campoamar. La Manga is about an hours drive away.
Local courses:

Villamartin Golf Course.
"Villamartin, one of the best (golf) courses in Spain, hosted the Spanish Open" Fore! magazine, January 2000.
"Villamartin, Relish your time in this millionaires playground.
Why you should play. The place oozes class as soon as you wander through the entrance gardens complete with fountain and statue of an angelic lady golfer. You won't be disappointed by the 6037 metre, par 72 course either. There are some great holes and plenty of expensive eye-catching mansions on the courses perimeter.
Best bit. A difficult one as there's such a healthy choice but the 303 metre par four 7th, a downhill dogleg right to a green surrounded by cork trees, takes some beating. There's a gem of a finale too- an elevated tee where you drive over yet more trees, the hole turning abruptly left and the fairway looking wafer-thin from your position up in the clouds. Well, almost." Today's Golfer magazine, January 2001.

Las Ramblas Golf Course
" Las Ramblas, the incredible water hazards - the Ramblas - which make this ( golf ) course different from others in the area" FORE! magazine (Jan 2000 issue)
" Las Ramblas. Take plenty of balls. You'll need them.
Why you should play. It's an outstanding, undulating course in a dramatic, contrasting landscape. One minute you're trying to steer clear of trees and shrubbery and the next you're battling to avoid barren rock outcrops. Be warned it's a battle you might well lose. But you'll love trying.
Best bit. The challenge of propelling your ball over a series of gorges and ravines. The first - a 341-metre sharp dogleg right of a par four- sets the tone. You can either gamble and drive over a rocky hillock or play safe by taking an iron , aiming for an area straight ahead but leaving a lengthy second shot. Decisions, decisions... and Las Ramblas is full of them." Today's Golfer magazine, January 2001
Campoamor Golf Club,
Longer than the other courses in the area, but the fairways are wider so there's more room to "have a go"! Built in 2 valleys, lush fairways and fast greens, with palm, pine and orange trees. Impressive clubhouse, restaurant and bars, but the pro shop hasn't got much apart from clothes and balls. Beautiful course, give it a try, you will love it.
